Instead of acknowledging diverse life choices, marriage forces couples into a predetermined model. It limits the possibilities of experiencing love and partnership individually and freely. Roig advocates for decoupling love, partnership, and marriage to enable new, more diverse relationship models.

Roig sees the abolition of marriage not just as liberation for women, but for society as a whole. Only by questioning marriage as an institution can we find new ways to experience relationships on equal terms and create a more just world for everyone.
